About Maria
Born in Madrid, Spain, Maria has travelled extensively. She has lived in Madrid, London, Paris and New York, but now has made her home in Petaluma, California.
For many years, Maria was an art teacher in Long Island, NY. She was a Board Director of the Council for the Arts on the North Shore; Chairperson of the Art Colony at the Americas’ Sail ‘98; Board Director of the North Shore Historical Museum; and Art Director of Mezcla Media Market. She was also a member of the Long Island Arts Council, the African American Museum and the American Museum of Women in the Arts in Washington D.C. |
Maria's work reflects a continuous exploration into new media, style and subjects, with inspiration found examples in a wide range of places - including Spain, Great Britain, Argentina, Russia, Japan, Australia, Switzerland, and throughout the US, from California to Florida.
Commissioned works include murals in private as well as public locations, such as one at the gateway to Glen Cove and one at McKinley School in Petaluma. Maria is currently Vice President of the Petaluma Arts Association and Chairperson of the Art in the Park. |
